WIN THE LOST.
DISCIPLE THE WON.
CARE FOR THE FELLOWSHIP.

TRUTH
We believe that truth is the foundation of life, as declared in Scripture. Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but by me." (John 14:6). The truth of God, revealed in His Word, brings freedom and life. We dedicate ourselves to studying, believing, and obeying this truth in all aspects of our lives.

"Your words were found, and I ate them, and your words became to me a joy and the delight of my heart, for I am called by your name, O Lord, God of hosts." —Jeremiah 15:16

WORSHIP
Worship is our highest calling and greatest joy, going beyond a weekly service to a life lived in constant praise of God. True satisfaction is found in worshiping Him in spirit and truth, surrendering our lives as living sacrifices to His will.

"I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship." —Romans 12:1

COMMUNITY
We are created for community, not isolation. In fellowship with other believers, we find strength, support, and encouragement to grow in our faith and fulfill God's commands. Our relationships within the church community are vital for spiritual growth and mutual edification.

"And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another." —Hebrews 10:24-25

MISSION
Our mission is to make disciples of all nations, sharing the message of Christ locally and globally. We are called to proclaim that Jesus died for our sins and was raised to life so that all may live. This Great Commission guides our purpose and direction as a church.

"Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you." —Matthew 28:19-20

SHERIDAN HILLS BAPTIST CHURCH BELIEFS

I. THE SCRIPTURES
We believe the Holy Bible is the divinely inspired Word of God, revealing His truth without error. It is the ultimate guide for faith, conduct, and the foundation of Christian unity. Every word of Scripture points to Christ, who is the focus of God's revelation.

II. GOD
We believe in one true God, who is eternal, all-knowing, and all-powerful. He exists in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. God is the Creator, Redeemer, and Sustainer of the universe, deserving of our highest love and obedience.

  • God the Father: He is the sovereign ruler of the universe, caring for His creation with love and wisdom. He is Father to those who believe in Jesus Christ.

  • God the Son: Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God, became human through the virgin birth, lived a sinless life, and died for our sins. He rose from the dead, ascended to heaven, and will return in glory. He is our Mediator and Lord.

  • God the Holy Spirit: The Holy Spirit is fully divine, inspiring the Scriptures, convicting us of sin, and guiding us into truth. He indwells believers, empowering us for worship, service, and spiritual growth.

III. MAN
We believe that man is created in the image of God, but through sin, we have fallen from our original state of innocence. All people are sinners by nature and by choice, deserving of God's judgment. However, through Jesus Christ, we can be restored to a right relationship with God.

IV. SALVATION
Salvation is God's gracious gift, offered to all who trust in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. It involves regeneration, justification, sanctification, and glorification. Salvation is a process that begins with a new birth and continues through spiritual growth, culminating in eternal life with God.

  • Regeneration: A work of God's grace where believers are made new in Christ.

  • Justification: God's declaration of righteousness for those who have faith in Christ.

  • Sanctification: The ongoing process of becoming more like Christ through the Holy Spirit.

  • Glorification: The final state of the redeemed, fully restored in God's presence.
